And now, with the introduction of our latest innovation, the clicPan®, we are proud to bring you a panoramic photography system that combines seamless functionality with uncompromising quality.
In mid 2022, we introduced a new panoramic option for three of our tripod heads with a variable interval rotator integrated under the top panning mechanism. The new ARCA-SWISS clicPan® tripod heads allow photographers to choose between normal operation with unrestricted free panning for single captures, or adjust quickly to clicPan® mode for panoramic interval captures.
Simplifying Panoramic Photography
The clicPan® tripod head is efficient and simple to use. To select one of the panoramic intervals, simply rotate the white index mark on the clicPan® adjustment ring until it is aligned with the chosen interval setting. Ten positions are provided on the lower scale – 40° (9 stops), 30° (12 stops), 24° (15 stops), 20° (18 stops), 15° (24 stops), 12° (30 stops), 10° (36 stops), 7.5° (48 stops), 6° (60 stops) with an “OFF” position for 360° free panning movement.
The clicPan® adjustment ring turns in either direction. Once a panoramic interval setting is chosen, the clicPan® head will pan in equal steps, while the user feels and hears the “clic” at each interval. Simply pan the camera to the next detent and stop. Let any vibration settle, then capture the image and move to the next interval position. You will feel and hear the audible clic at every detent.
Top Panning
Once the camera is leveled, the top panning design ensures level panning without the need to adjust the tripod legs on uneven ground, saving time and allowing photographers to focus on capturing the image. Additionally, when using the C1 Cube cp or the monoball® p1 cp heads, the camera can be tilted forward 90° for positioning the camera parallel to the ground, and rotated 180° using top pan for quick repositioning of the camera for overhead views.
Strong and stable for the highest performance
The clicPan® range of tripod heads are designed to be durable and resilient, built to handle the demands of heavy telephoto lenses or medium and large format cameras. Core 75 Leveler cp and monoball® p1+ cp provide a load capacity of up to 66 lbs / 30 kg, while the C1 Cube cp is capable of handling up to 88 lbs / 40 kg.
C1 Cube cp and monoball® p1+ cp heads offer a friction dial, enabling greater control over heavier loads, or less tension for lighter loads. This friction setting feature provides added stability and improved handling when needing fine adjustments.
Lightweight and Compact
Featherlight and low-profile, the clicPan® mechanism adds just 2 ounces (60 grams) and 10 mm of height to its standard configuration. While providing added functionality for panoramic photography, its lightweight and low-profile design ensures that it does not interfere with the usage of clicPan® as a standard tripod head. ClicPan is indeed a portable and non-intrusive addition to your camera kit.
Panoramic System
Our innovative panoramic photography system allows you to shoot single-row panoramas using the clicPan® head and a simple nodal rail. For multi-row panoramas, our Pan System and Pan System Pro accessories, in combination with a NodalSet, enable you to expand your creative boundaries. Designed with the needs of photographers in mind, our panoramic accessories are compact and can be quickly collapsed, ensuring convenient portability and easy transportation in any photo bag.
