R-Line Technical Cameras
ARCA-SWISS R-Line Technical Cameras distinguish themselves from traditional view cameras by offering a unique combination of features. These durable cameras have a sleek and minimal aluminum body and provide view camera movements without the use of bellows. Offering high portability without sacrificing functionality or versatility, R-Line cameras can even be used handheld.
With their ability to quickly and precisely adjust perspective and planes-of-focus, R-Line cameras include AIP (All In-Plane) movements, allowing for separated and independent rise, fall, and shift adjustments on the image plane. This design ensures rapid and accurate precision positioning for composition. A built-in tilt mechanism eliminates the need for additional tilt adapters or lens panels, allowing you to tilt any R-mount lens or those mountable on an R-adapter board, such as Hasselblad V or Pentax 645 lenses.
R-Line cameras are further enhanced with a finely pitched helical focusing mechanism, known to be the sturdiest among all technical camera lens mounts. The design also provides the widest opening, helping to prevent mechanical vignetting. This mechanism provides smooth and precise adjustments with positive friction, effectively resisting minor bumps that can change the focus, preventing accidental focus errors.
While R-Line cameras are designed and best suited for for wide-angle photography, they can also accommodate longer lenses up to 210mm. For focal lengths exceeding 90mm, a specific lens spacer is required. This spacer is positioned between the camera back and the capture device, ensuring optimal lens performance. These spacers are unique to three focal length groups and are provided with R-lens mounting service.
The use of an R-bayonet adapter board enables R-mount lens compatibility with traditional ARCA-SWISS view cameras. This feature allows photographers who possess an ARCA-SWISS view camera and an R-Line camera to share R-mount lenses between the two systems.
If the shooting situation calls for it, the top accessory mount on Rm3di and RL3di enables the reversal of the camera body. By rotating the body 180°, a more significant rise movement can effectively become a larger fall movement. This feature is specifically useful for capturing downward angles from elevated viewpoints, such as the top of a building or a canyon's edge. These identical mounts can also accept a longer length of ARCA-SWISS monorail for use in finding the nodal point in rotational panoramic photography.
R-Line Technical Cameras
RM3di
Our award winning 6x9 technical camera is designed for zone or focusing precision using our extraordinary helical focusing mechanism. Compositional movements are all-in-plane, with gear-driven and self-locking controls.
The camera body seamlessly integrates axis tilt, enabling tilt or swing movements for focal lengths 23 mm to 210 mm without additional lens adapters and added cost.
R-Line Technical Cameras
RL3DI
Our unique 4x5 technical camera designed for 4x5 sheet film, roll film backs and digital backs. Compositional movements are all-in-plane and gear-driven with self-locking controls. Axis tilt or swing is integrated within the RL3di camera body.
We recommend this camera for large format wide-angle applications or for digital back users that require larger movements for high resolution digital capture.

Factum
Our travel compact 6x9 technical camera utilizes the TUM helical focusing and tilt module, within a minimal FAC frame. Rise/fall or lateral shift friction lock movement is manually operated and quick to perform.
Additionally, FAC frames are an accessory for Rm3di or RL3di users requiring an ultralight compact camera option. Simply remove the TUM from your R-camera and install it within the FAC frame for travel or hiking with a minimal kit.
