The ARCA-SWISS R-Line system has been a trusted choice for photographers using film and digital backs with Rodenstock or Schneider R-mount lenses. In 2019, ARCA-SWISS expanded its capabilities by introducing a new integration with the Fujifilm GFX 50R digital camera, which can be used as a capture device for ARCA-SWISS R-line cameras.

 

A new spacer is required when using R-mount lenses for Fujifilm GFX 50R

 

 

R-LINE ADAPTER FOR FUJIFILM GFX 50R

The R-Line adapter for GFX 50R enables seamless integration between the camera and the R-line system. This adapter features a rotating mechanism for easy switching between portrait and landscape orientation, and the inner bayonet tube is lined with matte black leather to minimize internal flare. Additionally, a notched cutout allows access to the Fujifilm GFX 50R lens release button for easy removal of the adapter plate. With this adapter, photographers can take full advantage of the technical capabilities of the ARCA-SWISS R-line system, while using the Fujifilm GFX 50R as a high-quality digital capture device.

 

 

ADAPT AN R-MOUNT LENS FOR USE WITH FUJI GFX 50R

 

To use an R-mount lens with the GFX 50R, the original R-mount lens calibration spacer must be removed and replaced with a new GFX 50R special spacer tube. This is required for each R-mount lens to match the flange focal distance of the Fujifilm GFX 50R. Please note that the original calibration spacer can still be used with the R-mount lens when using a digital back or roll film back. Simply change the calibration spacer on your R-mount lens when switching between GFX 50R and a digital or roll film back.

It's important to keep in mind that only Rodenstock or Schneider large format lenses 55 mm and longer are compatible with the flange focal distance of the Fujifilm GFX 50R. For lenses wider than 55 mm, we suggest using Pentax 645 or Hasselblad V manual aperture control lenses with R lens boards that can be bayonet mounted to the TUM helical. This option is cost-effective and easy to adapt to R-Line cameras.

Alternatively, Canon TS-E wide-angle lenses can be used with the Canon Kit for R-Line along with the Canon aperture control lens board. Please refer to the Canon adapter kit for R-Line support page or the Rodenstock & Schneider lens compatibility chart below for more information.

 

FOR EXISTING R-MOUNT LENSES

R-mount lens calibration tubes must be sent to ARCA-SWISS USA for the manufacture of a new spacer tube calibrated for the Fuji GFX 50R. To ensure precise measurement, the original R-spacer with its matching tube marked "RotaSlide: Remove" must be sent together. Once we receive the tubes, we will quickly take the necessary measurements and return the originals to you.
