ORBIX® TILT
Definition of Orbix® movements - The optics move at the center of a circle which is perpendicular to the base of the frame and is located above the vertical movement axis
Practically speaking, what does this provide?
Orbix® tilt adjustments are made without shifting the image or affecting the composition on the ground glass.
Fast and easy tilt adjustments are made in the selected plane and simplify the process, minimizing the need for the focus and tilt repetitive steps required by traditional base or axis tilt designs. A photographer can compose and focus using Orbix® without recomposing and refocusing numerous times.
Additionally, ARCA-SWISS cameras outfitted with Orbix® tilt are tri-axial yaw-free.
Micro-Orbix® Tilt
Micro-Orbix® tilt offers precise gear-driven movements with detents every 2.5 degrees, making it an indispensable feature for setting very small tilt angles when shooting with wide-angle lenses or digital devices with small sensors. The Orbix® tilt control is self-locking, eliminating the need for locking and unlocking, and can be precisely operated using one hand.
Orbix® is adjusted using the same method as base tilt
ARCA-SWISS Orbix® tilt differs from axis tilt. When using Orbix® tilt, focus for the far subject and tilt for the near subject. This process can be done quickly and easily by using the right hand to focus and the left hand to control Micro-Orbix® tilt.
