FOR ULTIMATE CONTROL – C1 CUBE WITH GEARED PANNING
The patented ARCA-SWISS C1 Cube, with innovative construction and unique design, is now available with a gear driven self-locking panning device. This version of the C1 Cube is designated “gp” for geared panning control, and is situated underneath the camera quick release for secure and precise positioning.
A feature of the geared panning design provides a choice for gear driven or free movements when using pan for an image. When the gp locking lever is released, the pan movement is free for quick panning adjustments. When the gp lever is locked, the gears inside the panning device are re-engaged and offer micro-metric geared rotation of the camera.
Using the new geared panning device, cameras and lenses can be moved with geared drives micro-metrically in three axes. Additionally, C1 Cube gp is equipped with a second manual panning mechanism at its base for initial alignment of the camera with the subject.
Once C1 Cube gp is leveled, using top pan rather than base pan provides further refined control for static or panoramic captures.
ARCA-SWISS C1 CUBE
With its unique patented design, the ARCA-SWISS C1 Cube enables precise and secure camera positioning never before achieved.
As the movements are performed within a circular arc, minimal change occurs in the distance to the subject and the image field.
The C1 Cube has micro-metric gear-driven controls for precise movements in two axes. A separate tension adjustment control is provided for both axes, for ease of use when working with either light or heavy loads. C1 Cube geared controls are self-locking, so when a change is needed, simply turn a control knob to make a change and release. C1 Cube has a dual set of knobs for each axis, one on each side of the C1 Cube housing, to facilitate operation in tight spaces. Additionally, each pair of control knobs can be turned at the same time or separately for user preference.
90° TILT MOVEMENT
With a combination of a manual and geared movement, it's possible to move the C1 Cube into extreme positions. A feature of the C1 Cube is the ability to open up like a clamshell to allow for vertical shooting without an L-bracket or to increase the degree at which you can pitch and roll the camera.
The C1 Cube housing is hinged and is secured with a locking knob. Once unlocked, the C1 Cube may be opened manually and relocked at a 60° orientation. To achieve the final vertical position, the geared tilt control can fine tune the camera position beyond 90°. Overhead views may be achieved in this same position, using top pan to rotate the camera upwards.
DUAL PANNING MECHANISMS
A panning device at the base of the C1 Cube serves the initial alignment of the camera with the subject. A second panning device on the top, sitting above the pivot axis, allows for precise and level 360° rotation, once the C1 Cube has been leveled. Two tubular levels, easily viewed on the top platform, aid in leveling.
CHOICE OF QUICK RELEASE
The C1 Cube is available with either the Classic quick release with captive screw knob, or the flipLock® quick release. An optional leather case is also available.
